Myllynjuova

Myllynjuova

Myllynjuova, next to the grilling hut, offers a majestic view to the river. The wild rapids sing while the visitor enjoys skewered whitefish and the cultural environment.

At the opposite side of the river there is a similar rapids field as on the Finnish side. Can you see the Swedish clock tower?

Turning your head a little you can take a closer look at the long line of storage sheds. They come in different shapes and ages. Some of them have witnessed life in the rapids field for centuries.

In the middle of the rapids field there is the statue of The Raftsman, Lauttamies. It was revealed in 1961 to respect the hard work of the men transporting timber on the river.
