On the other side of the river, in Sweden, one can see something familiar: another rapids field with traditional buildings.
By the Kukkolaforsen rapids there are several sheds where the fishermen store their equipment. Today six sheds remain. Also an ice shed, an office space and a hut for grilling fish are located in the area.
The Finnish side of Kukkola has lost it’s traditional mill buildings but on the Swedish side two remain.
Kukkolaforsen Turist & Konferens provide tourists and visitors with accommodation services throughout the year and there is also a restaurant and a fishing museum in the area. Check a 3D here!
